St. Pete Beach Fishing Charter Report
Summer time fishing in Florida is amazing! The number of different species that can be targeted inshore in Tampa Bay makes it one of the best fisheries in the world. Some mornings are spent chasing tarpon aka the silver kings along St. Pete Beach, while others are spent targeting snook in crystal clear water. The trout bite tends to slow down some during our hotter months but we also typically find some of our larger trout during these times. There’s definitely plenty of sport fishing to be done in Tampa Bay during the summer months.
For our anglers looking for high quality table fare and constant action, the mackerel and snapper bite has been ideal. Many trips we are getting our limits of both species and even finding some keeper inshore grouper on some of these trips.
We can’t forget about the flounder that have been hanging around as well in the sandy spots and all of the jack crevalle that many anglers absolutely love catching because of their hard fighting style and relentless endurance.
As the end of summer starts wrapping up we are expecting the red fishing to start picking back up with some schools already starting to show up on the flats.
